The National Accreditation Board for Testing and Calibration Laboratories (NABL) on November 17, 2025, issued the Terms & Conditions for Obtaining and Maintaining NABL Accreditation.
The following has been stated namely: -
• The amended NABL Terms and Conditions introduce new compliance requirements, including mandatory adherence to ISO 20387 for relevant applicants and stricter obligations for maintaining impartiality, confidentiality, and operational integrity.
• Accredited laboratories shall ensure timely updates to NABL on organizational, legal, or operational changes and fully cooperate during assessments, surveillance, and audits, including unannounced visits.
• The conditions also emphasize consequences for misuse of the NABL logo, non-compliance, fraudulent practices, or failure to meet accreditation standards, which may result in suspension, withdrawal, or legal action.
• Additionally, CABs are required to participate in proficiency testing, maintain valid legal entity status, pay prescribed fees, and ensure proper record retention and reporting throughout the accreditation cycle.
